Netherlands-based Oil and Vinegar is looking to enter the Michigan market through Metro Detroit.

The eclectic company aggregates high-quality specialty items from around the world like hot sauces from South Africa and olive oils from Australia.

While the European company has not signed a final contract, a conversation with the CEO of U.S. operations left me with the impression that we will probably see stores opening throughout Southeast Michigan sometime early next year.

I got an even stronger sense that one will open in Somerset Mall sooner rather than later.

“Troy, West Bloomfield, Rochester, Ann Arbor and East Lansing are all interesting to us,” Matt Stermer, CEO of U.S. operations said. “In terms of real estate we look for the upper-scale shopping environment and Somerset Mall always crops up.” (READ MORE)
